About Hindu on the Bindu
First came the book
I wanted to write a book for children (and adults) that introduces two very important concepts:The importance of story-telling and non violent conflict solving. I chose an elderly man from a humble village who wanted to create a story-book based upon his lifetime of interaction with children telling stories he invented as he was telling them. This man (based upon my father in-law), reached a point in his life trying to recall all the stories in his head. To his surprise, he received help from his own inner child (based on my son) that came alive and popped-out from his third-eye (Bindu).
Then came the doll
The doll was created as a gender-neutral, lovable companion to the book. However, it also stands alone as a kind, sympathetic and positive affirmation of one's self. My son has this doll on the book shelf facing his bed. Every morning, he tells me, when he opens his eyes and sees the smile on this doll, he knows it is a good day.
